Male Psyche in Analysis and Therapy: Under the Hoodie (Routledge Press)
Robert Tyminski’s second book about working with boys and men is intended to help clinicians who see them in their practices, teach them in schools, and mentor them in many other settings.
“….When it comes to doing therapy and analysis with boys and men, even those of us who are supposed to know are often lost and confused.
—Prof. Andrew Samuels, Former Chair
Prize-winning author Robert Tyminski offers an original, grounded, compassionate and inspiring range of approaches to clients and patients who may not really want to be in the room with us at all.”

My other books:
My work:
I am a clinician who specializes in working with men and studying male alienation and the effects of social media on young men and adolescents. This carries over even into my fictional work, whose main characters are young men with stigmatized experiences: living with a chronic illness, or growing up as a queer adolescent.
I think of writing as exploration. I never know where I will end up. Whether I’m writing non-fiction or fiction, I’m interested the journey of how a person gets somewhere, how they usually take unexpected detours, and how sometimes, they might have to stop for a while.
